Hooshburger is the story of Hooshang Nazarali, who moved from immigrated to the United States in the '70s, amidst the political turmoil of the Iranian Revolution and made a life running an eclectic cafe-gas station hybrid in Madison County, Arkansas. His famous signature dish, a Persian-American hamburger referred to by regulars as a "Hooshburger", reflects the contrast in culture and identity experienced by this left-leaning, middle eastern man who has been thriving in a majority-conservative area of the country for over 30 years. Though he is geographically far removed from both his home country and isolated from society, Hoosh remains active in Iranian politics and continues to work with the Council of Resistance in Iran.
